You need reasons to love San Ramon, California?  Well here are five.  If you need more, you’ll just have to go there and enjoy it yourself!

One the Weather

Really, are you silly enough to prefer wearing sunglasses to donning an umbrella? Go ahead, go to San Ramon. Beginning in late spring through the fall, it’s almost a guarantee the weather will be warm and sunny.  San Ramon has 256 days of sun every year!

Two the Location

However, if you’re looking for fun rather than sun, you can drive 30-45 minutes in any direction and find it – farmer’s markets, skiing, award-winning restaurants, theaters, and casinos. And, if you’re really concerned about too much sun, San Francisco’s a little faster, and it always guarantees fog.

Three the Community

Want your kids to “go out and play?” San Ramon is a natural kid environment.  A few family-friendly events include weekly Summer Concerts in the Park from June through August and there are family activities year-round at the 16-acre Forest Home Farm Park, such as trick-or-treating in October and holiday card-making workshops in December.  If you don’t mind venturing a step or so away from San Ramon, the Easy Bay Regional Park District Tuesday Twilight hikes are opportunities the whole family can enjoy.

Four the Schools

San Ramon schools are top-notch.  In fact, people endure all that sunshine because of the school district’s high test scores and record of academic excellence.

With over 25,000 students, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District students scored highest in English Language Arts (ELA) and second highest in mathematics on the 2015 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress.

In addition, the district is also committed to providing resources for families who wish to home-school their children through a K-12 alternate school called Venture Independent Study School. No matter what kind of education you wish to pursue for your child, this district will ensure that you and your child have the support that’s needed.

Five the Shopping

No, ladies, San Ramon did not forget shopping.  While the nearby Marketplace Shopping Center and Shops at Bishop Ranch serve San Ramon well, planners of City Center at Bishop Ranch are currently heading a new project aimed at building the downtown San Ramon never had. The project, expected to be completed in 2017, aims to give locals a center, infused with a lively, energetic atmosphere, to gather with 350,000 square feet of quality shops and restaurants, a multi-screen movie theater, a one-acre piazza lined with trees primed for outdoor performances and art exhibitions.  That’s what all that sunlight can produce.
